Too Much
****
I swore I had put it behind me.

I had all that I needed in my family.

Hermione was a wonderful wife and mother.

The year passed.

Kate was in her sixth year, she worked almost as hard as her mum and, of course, she was a prefect.

Lizzie was my girl – she was on the Gryffindor Quidditch team and in detention whenever her sister couldn’t get her out of trouble.

Annie owled Di almost daily, she couldn’t wait for her to join her at school.

Charlie dreamed of following them.

Teddy had Alex as his special project. He’d only been a year old when she was born, but he’d always looked after her, the poor motherless mite.

And, as he was the image of me, and Alex the image of her father?

It hurt to see them so inseparable.

I had all that I needed, and more.

And, the following Autumn, there we all were at King’s Cross again, Harry finally seeing Di off to school with her cousins.

And then he looked at me.

My Big Damn Table.
