So, our relationship was over.

It had to be.

It wasn’t as if Harry and I had been away, shagging, when Ginny died, but it felt like it.

I had betrayed her, taken the only thing she ever wanted.

And it didn’t make it any easier that she never knew.

Our kids grew, and Lizzie and then Annie started school.

Annie and his Diana were firmest of friends, and Di made her dad take them all to King’s Cross to see Annie off on the train.

It was the first time he’d been since Gin died and he looked awful.

People stared at him, and he was out of practise.

I know he found himself looking for her; I did, every year.
